Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has admitted he helped convince young striker Victor Osimhen to join Stamford Bridge.
Osimhen faces an uncertain future with no clubs willing to meet his €130m release clause. And the only possible move for Napoli is to negotiate with Chelsea for a swap deal involving Antonio Conte target Romelu Lukaku UFABET
However, Osimhen is reportedly unwilling to move to Chelsea due to his failure to participate in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League. And will wait for an offer from Paris Saint-Germain until the final day of the transfer window.
“I hope the Chelsea fans will finally see him at the club.” said Mikel, who played for Chelsea between 2006 and 2017. “I’ve been texting him, calling him. Making sure Chelsea is the most important thing for him.”
“I’m sure the big clubs would like to sign him. I think if we (Chelsea) can sign him, it would be great for the club.”
“Didier (Drogba) spoke to him as well, told him about his experience and showed him how much this club means to us. We all want to see Victor come to the club.”
“If it happens, it would be a big transfer. But if we can get him to the club, it would be great.” the former Nigeria midfielder said.
