The arrival of Hansi Flick has helped Robert Lewandowski rediscover his best form after their successful time together at Bayern Munich.

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has revealed he was delighted to hear the news over the summer that he would be reuniting with Hansi Flick. With whom he enjoyed great success at Bayern Munich, The Athletic reported on Saturday. 

Flick has been Bayern Munich’s manager since November 2019. He made history by leading the Bavarians to their second Bundesliga treble in the 2020-21 season. With Lewandowski a key figure. 

Before Flick moved to Germany in the summer of 2021. The Pole joined Barcelona a year later and the pair were reunited after the Blaugrana brought in the German to take over from Xavi Hernandez.

‘I am very happy because I know what is going to happen. I have worked with Hansi a lot and we don’t need to talk much. The first time I spoke with him this year was when Barcelona were looking for a new coach. It was a short period, two or three weeks before the summer,’ Lewandowski said.

Flick’s arrival has helped Lewandowski’s form once again. With the Polish striker netting 14 goals in 13 Bundesliga appearances and 19 in total in 17 appearances in all competitions. Thanks in part to the German’s physical preparation.

‘We all feel stronger. When you have the physical preparation we have now, you don’t have to worry about staying in shape for the game and not thinking about how to beat the opponent.
